****** His Omega Complex ******
by julesver
Summary
In a world full of betas, Yoon Bum always dreamed of being with an
alpha, to submit to him and bear his children. Today is the day he’ll
meet his alpha, but what’s the worth of an omega when his womb has
     rotted out from the inside?
Notes
In the world people are divided into three categories: alpha, beta,
     and omega.

     Alphas
The alpha is the elite, gifted with good genes, high IQs, and strong
bodies. They are natural leaders and often dominate whatever field of
work that they’re in. They compromised about 10% of the population.
While they don’t experience heat, they are highly affected by an
Omega’s pheromones, and while in a vicinity of a fertile omega, they
can be sent into a rut. Rut is a state where an alpha becomes
violent, territorial, and sexually charged. While around other alphas
and betas, they will compete with them for the sole ownership of a
fertile omega. It usually ends violently.
During a rut, an Alpha’s genital can develop a knot, which is an
erectile tissue that swell up and lock into place while they deposit
semen into their partner. An Alpha’s orgasm can last up to 30
minutes, depositing continuous stream of semen to ensure proper
     breeding.
     Omega
The omega is the rarest of the three subtypes. They make up less than
1% of the population. Both the female and males have the ability to
conceive, and every month they experience a weeklong fertility period
     called the heat.
During a heat, an Omega secretes pheromones from the enlarged glands
on the back of their neck to attract potential mates. To an alpha,
this scent is irresistible and can send them into uncontrollable
ruts. To an omega, they are inclined to mate during this time. This
makes the omega vulnerable to attacks, kidnapping, as well as
situations where consent may be dubious.
All Omegas have scent glands on their nape that secretes pheromones
to attract mates. During sex, if an Alpha bites down those scent
glands, they are bonded for life as mates. An alpha will not be sent
into a rut by another omega’s heat, and an omega will no longer have
     uncontrollable heats outside of sex.

     Beta
The beta is the everyman. They experience no heat or rut, nor do they
have physiological changes like having a knot or enlarged glands.
Betas lead largely normal lives. Despite not experiencing any heat or
rut, an omega’s heat still affect them, giving the same effect of a
Viagra or an aphrodisiac. Unlike alphas, they still keep a measure of
their humanity during this process. While they do not have the same
the genes and god given advantages of an alpha, Betas can easily rise
to the top of their field of work with hard work and effort. They
make up about 90% of the population.

Well that's the gist of it anyways. Hope you enjoy the fic :)
***** Yoon Bum *****
When his first heat came at the age of fifteen, his uncle raped him. Being the
first omega in their family, Yoon Bun was never properly taught how to use
suppressants or how to monitor his cycles. All he knew was when it gets hot and
itchy down there, he’ll call in sick, lay face down on his bed, and pop a pill
after his uncle was done using him. It was hell, but since it scratched the
biological itch inside of him, hell was tolerable.

He missed a lot of school because of this, which in turn held him back from
graduating for several years. Teachers pitied him. His classmates avoided him.
The few friendships that he did manage to make were quickly forgotten, and by
the third time of repeating the same year, Yoon Bum had given up on the concept
of friends entirely.

Bum was going to repeat his senior year a fifth time when a new government law
was suddenly passed, giving more opportunities and assistance towards the
nation’s omega population. Out of nowhere he was given rights to enter a
university of his choice, free of charge and any additional testing, a kind of
affirmative action for the much discriminated omegas.

A famous university was chosen for him, and Yoon Bum began the new school year
with hopeful eyes. Maybe this time it won’t be like high school. Maybe this
time he’ll be able to make long lasting friendships and learn properly. Maybe
he’ll even meet someone special to him, someone who can help him during his
heat so he wouldn’t have to go to his disgusting uncle.

After only a week, he realized just how naïve that thought was.

If his classmates treated him with friendly apathy in high school, the
competitive students of the prestigious university actively hated him. They,
who worked themselves to the bone studying for the entrance exam, resented the
fact that someone unworthy was given a free ride towards their dream school.
Nobody bullied or actively tormented it, but Yoon Bum could feel their hateful
gaze on his body.

The shame was unbearable, and he was crippled with depression and anxiety. His
uncle told him to get used to it. “You’re gonna live on government handouts
anyways.” So he got used to it, resorting to self-harm to control his
fluctuating emotions, while attending classes. Soon enough, those hateful looks
turned to pity and disgust once they saw the scars on his wrist. By his second
year of university, he was back to being ignored, his existence not even
important enough to acknowledge.

For Yoon Bum, life was nothing more than a cycle of pain and boredom. When he
was not being raped by his uncle, he was sitting in a classroom listening to
his professor drone on about subjects he couldn’t understand. He had every
reason to end his life, but every time he put the razor to his body, he
couldn’t find the strength or courage to push in deeper, to open up his vein
and bleed out peacefully

“You shouldn’t just end your life like that.” A friendly police officer told
him after his uncle sent him to the police for attempting another suicide.
“There is so much happiness in this life. You just have to your own joy.
Afterwards, I promise life would be more bearable.”

So he took that advice and tried his best to fined small little comforts in his
mundane daily life. For a while everything seemed as bleak as ever, but
eventually he found himself humming to a catchy jingle from a commercial, or
looking forward to school because of the yummy lunch he could buy with his
meager allowance, as well as the opportunity to gaze at the handsome blond boy
sitting in his class. He reveled in those simple joys, and slowly come to terms
with his existence as an omega.

Then his military service started.

Everyone thought that a skinny omega like him would be assigned to cushy desk
job, but the official papers singled him out for active duty, stationing him in
a remote base deep in the mountains. The decision didn’t make sense to him
either, but Yoon Bum was eager to serve his nation, to prove that he is more
than a useless omega, that if he’s trained well, he can be a productive member
of society.

Turns out things were still the same.

For a group of bored and frustrated military officials, the temptation of
having an Omega on base is too much for them to ignore. So they manipulated
Bum’s papers, singled him out, and after basic training was over, they made him
their toy.‘Comfort Duties’was the unofficial name of his task, but everyone
else on base just know him as ‘The Faggot.’

Suddenly it was the same nightmare all over again, but instead of his uncle, he
had to service ten ravenous betas at a time. Outside of his heat he’s an
outcast, looked down by his peers for his subpar physique, and shunned for
being the company’s whore. He tried to fight back, but his small omega body was
no match for the officer’s superior genes. He tried to reach out for help, but
nobody cared enough to risk their neck like that. To them, going against a
superior officer was suicide, and nobody was stupid enough to risk their
military career for an omega.

Nobody except for Sangwoo.

Bum could still remember the details like it was yesterday. It was the last day
of his heat, and his body was on the verge of breaking from continuous use and
abuse. His ass and mouth were sore, oozing with semen, spit, and blood from a
week full of rape and violence. He was ready to die, but his omega nature made
him jut out his hips for more cock.

Then Oh Sangwoo came.

The alpha slammed into the room, his killing intent palpable as he looked down
on every one of his superior officers with raged filled eyes. They ordered him
to stand down, but Yoon Bum’s scent and distress already triggered his rut. He
destroyed every beta in that room, his mind driven by one singular desire; to
destroy every one who touched the omega. When he was done he turned his
attention to Bum.

Fear and desire flooded the boy’s senses. He never seen a rutting alpha before.
His eyes were beyond human, with droll dripping from his mouth like a ravenous
beast, and a massive bulge on his groin tenting out menacingly. He was sure
that he’s going to die, but he still spread his legs anyways, hole dripping,
eager to be filled by the superior man’s genes.

But nothing happened.

Turns out Sangwoo managed to get a hold of himself before completely raping
him. After he stumbled out of the room, he screamed for help and reported the
incident. They sedated the alpha at his own request. ‘He said he didn’t want to
hurt you.’ The doctor said to Bum while taking photo evidence of his wounds.
‘You were lucky that Sangwoo was around. Who knows what would happen if he
hadn’t noticed your distressed pheromones.’

That line made Bum feel so special. It made it seem like only Sangwoo was able
to save him, like they were fated to meet. This was the start of Yoon Bum’s
obsession with the alpha called Oh Sangwoo.

Despite their dramatic meetings, fate separated them as swiftly as they were
brought together. Yoon Bum was quickly given an honorable discharge, along with
some sizeable compensation with the promise that he wouldn’t sue. Hush money,
basically. All records of him being the victim were blacked out to protect his
identity, but the issue shook the nation and brought upon a new reformation on
how the government treats and protect their omega citizen.

His abusers were court marshaled and was sentenced to a life in prison. Sangwoo
stayed on to finish his active duty, but because of his heroism he was
instantly promoted from mere private to a corporal. The last Bum heard the
soldier received several commendations for his bravery. Those awards only prove
to confirm Bum’s suspicion; that Oh Sangwoo is more than a man, he’s a god
worthy of his love and worship.

That is why a year later after Yoon Bum is hunched over the entrance of
Sangwoo’s Door. “Because I love him,”he thought as the electronic lock chimed
out their refusal. He couldn’t summon enough courage to talk to the man, but he
was overcame with the intense desire to smell him again. “I’m not a bad person.
I’m just going to take a T-shirt or two so I can smell him during my heat.” He
rationalized in his brain.

Suddenly, the small hairs on his neck rose and his shoulder tensed up. His
small body was quickly covered by a looming shadow of a large male. The man
behind him clicked his tongue in disapproval. His deep voice and confident aura
clearly singling him out as an alpha. Yoon Bum instantly freezes, mortified at
the thought of being seen by his idol trying to break into his house.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” A familiar voice called.

***** Sangwoo *****
The day Oh Sangwoo found out he was an Alpha was also the same day he killed
his parents.

When he arrived home from school, his nose tingled at the captivating scent
seeping through the front door. At first he took a tentative sniff, trying to
place the delicious yet familiar scent. That was a mistake, for once it filled
up his nostrils, the boy changed into a completely different person.

What little warmth his home once held disappeared, leaving his hand cold and
shaking. Sweat dotted the back of his neck as adrenaline coursed through his
vein. Something inside of him awakened, something strong, primal, with an
unquenchable need to fuck and claim every available omega in the vicinity.

Fueled by the newfound power within him, the young boy made his way through the
seemingly endless corridors of his home. The floor stretched and warped into a
twisted path, but Sangwoo preserved, relying on that sweet scent to guide him
through the Escher dreamscape that his mind conjured up.

When he finally reached his destination, what Sangwoo found was worse than any
nightmare he could ever imagined.

His beautiful mother was lying on the mattress, her face contorting in
displeasure as his father mounted her with short desperate strokes. The fat
bastard was barely moving his hips, his pathetic beta dick probably barely
satisfying her as it is. She looked absolutely miserable, like a porcelain doll
just about to crack from the crass hand of a brutish little boy.

As time goes by Sangwoo could see the heat began to ravage her with increasing
intensity; making beg for his father to fuck him deeper. He body was desperate
for a worthy mate, but she was stuck with a pig who couldn’t even mate with her
properly.

Sangwoo knew that he was the one that his mother needed, and to get to her, he
must dispose of that grunting swine once and for all.

He ran to the kitchen and pulled out the longest knife he could find, gripping
it tightly as he ran his father straight through his back. Killing him wasn’t
hard at all. Sangwoo already grew up hating the man who bets and dominated
their every action. The man was evil, and he deserved every kiss from that cold
metal knife.

While stabbing his father’s lifeless body, the boy began to understand why the
man acted so terribly to them. The beatings, the insults, the humiliation;
they’re just tools to establish his masculinity. With an omega wife, it must’ve
killed him when he couldn’t claim her during her heat. So he resorted to
violence, play acting as the domineering pack leader. At the end of the day, he
was nothing more than a common beta with a dick barely long enough to scrape
his wife’s womb.

As his anger eased, the violent motions of his hands also stopped. The smell of
blood and death permeated the air, but even it’s thick stench wasn’t enough to
hide the sweet scent of his mother’s pheromones.

“Ma.” Sangwoo called, turning his attention to his terrified mother. He pulled
his father’s fat corpse off of her trembling body and rushed to her side. “Ma.
It’s okay.” He muttered, cradling her shoulder protectively as he kept her
shivering body warm. “Look. I made him go away. “ The boy muttered excitedly.
“See? I protected you. Now he’ll never beat you ever again.”

She said nothing to him, but the gratitude and worship in her eyes was enough
to break his self-restraint. Without a second thought, he took her on the blood
soaked bed, ignoring her weak protest and feeble attempts to push him away.
Bless her, he thought as he came deep in her. Even in the height of pleasure
she still tried to stop him, slurring through her own climax, begging for him
to stop. She was such a good mother, Sangwoo thought, but she would make an
even better wife.

“I love you ma.” Sangwoo muttered, rubbing his face against her neck, itching
to bite her nape and claim her. “I love you so much.” His cock swelled up at
the base, knotting her as he confesses the secret he’s been keeping ever since
he was a child. “I’m gonna protect you ma, so please, let me be your mate.”

She looked at him for a good long second before exploding in laughter.

“Mate?” she cackled, the ugly sound contrasting with her beautiful features.
Sangwoo tried to pull away from away from her, but his knot kept them locked in
together. Her laughter grew louder. “Mate?!” She shrieked, throwing her head
back like a crazed witch. “Sangwoo-ya, you want to be my mate?” She sing songed
the question, belittling his honest confession. Then, after what it seemed like
hours of her laughing at him, his mother smiled and placed her soft damp hand
on his cheek.

“I rather join your father than walk around with your mark on my neck.”

Present Day
===============================================================================

“Oooi! Sangwoo!”

The loud greeting broke his concentration. Sangwoo sighed into his coffee cup
and put on a good-natured smile that he practiced countless of times before.
“Hey officer Park!” He replied, waving back to the passing car cheerfully. He
thought that it would be the extent of their interaction, but much to his
dismay the patrol car circled the block and pulled up right next to him.

“How are you doing these days?” the middle aged officer asked, gesturing for
Sangwoo to come closer. Sangwoo obeyed without complaint, abandoning his table
to a group of loud. Despite the tedium of navigating through human
relationship, Sangwoo understand that it’s important it is for him to have a
good relationship with the police. After all, a friend of the police is less
likely to be questioned when a girl goes missing.

So he amused the old man’s terrible jokes and bantered with him like an old
friend. Officer but while they were doing so, Sangwoo noticed a pair of sharp
eyes following his every move like a hawk.

How annoying.

“Ah… Sorry I didn’t catch your name Mr…?” Sangwoo offered his hand to the sharp
eyed stranger, the same smile still dancing on his lips to ease their
introduction.

“Yang Seungbae. Officer Yang Seungbae if you could.” He said coldly. Sangwoo
was taken aback by his reaction. He’s usually great at first impressions, but
for some reason, this new officer is just isn’t buying into his bullshit.

‘Ah, he’s must be an alpha too. No wonder he’s so intense.’ Sangwoo thought,
leaning closer to the man, hoping to see him shift away in discomfort. Seungbae
did no such thing. He stood his ground and look up towards him with clear
disdain. Officer Park chattered on, oblivious of the tension between the two.

“Anyways, we should be heading back to patrol. Oh, which reminds me, your
cousin used to know Seungbae back in Seoul. What a small world huh?” Officer
Park chuckled, turning on the ignition.

“Huh? What cousin?” A chill ran down his spine.

“The one who’s waiting at your house. You shouldn’t keep him waiting long
Sangwoo-sshi. A sensitive boy like him might think you’ve abandoned him.”
Seungbae said calmly. Sangwoo only gave him a blank look. “I counseled your
cousin a bit when his family bought him to the police.” Seungbae quickly
explained.

“Did you?” Sangwoo gave him a stiff smile, unsure of what to do with that
information. He patted the roof of the patrol car in a cheery melody as he
thought of his next move. “Say officers. You mind giving me a lift?”

Officer Park chuckled at the boy’s audacity. “Sure. We don’t mind, but we’re
not circling back anywhere near your area.”

“Oh, that’s okay.” The blond jumped on the back seat of the police car with
ease. “I need to stop by the hardware store anyways. I forgot to buy my… cousin
a present.”

Chapter Notes
See the end of the chapter for notes
Growing up in a predominantly alpha household, expectation has always been a
part of Yang Seungbae’s life. As the eldest of four siblings, he had to be the
responsible one and set a good example for his little sisters. His mother and
father worked as successful defense lawyers, so naturally he was expected to
follow suit in their footsteps. In addition to that, as a firstborn male in his
family, Seungbae would have to marry someone appropriate when he comes of age.
After all, it was his responsibility to continue the family name.

It was a suffocating existence, but Seungbae never cracked under the pressure.
He complied to every demand and met his family’s impossible standards, devoting
himself to his studies with a rigor that’s rarely found in your average
teenager. He was the model student, the perfect son, the type of kid that every
mother nags their mediocre child to be. With the title ‘alpha’ attached in his
pedigree, Yang Seungbae is on track for an easy ride in life.

But he didn’t want an easy life. A stable nine to five with a monthly six
figure salary, a beautiful wife that he’ll marry out of convenience; all of
those things didn’t appeal to him. As a young man, he had seen the way his
parents lived, how shallow and passionless their day-to-day lives are. Seungbae
wanted more.

So when his graduation came, the young alpha took the acceptance letter from
his family’s alma mater and ripped it to shreds. He submitted an application to
a police academy instead.

His family was furious. How can an alpha of the Yang family only aspire to be a
lowly policeman? In their eyes, police work is a job made for burnt out betas
who couldn’t compete in the job market. An officer’s salary is mere chump
change, the hours are terrible, and the possibility of a promotion is slim at
best. To them, their son just throwing away his chance at the perfect life and
traded it for a career in directing traffic and filling up forms.

His mother cried. His sisters tried to coax him out of it. His friends openly
laughed at his choice. At one point, his father almost disowned him. Despite
all of that, he stood his ground, as stubborn as he was excellent. It only
angered them even more. On the day of his entrance ceremony, his parents sent
him off to the military, hoping that their son would return a changed man.

Seungbae has every right to hate his parents, but he didn’t. They raised him
well, gave him every opportunity they can afford, and left him to his own
devices. In another lifetime he might have even loved them. However, after two
decades of witnessing them defend rich criminals, he felt like it was his duty
to right the wrong the have brought to the world. So after he came back from
his mandatory military duty, he echoes the same sentiment to his father again.
This time his parents lost their resolve and let him have his way.

The first few years in the force were hell. Corruption was everywhere, and
nobody wanted to stand up to the criminals for fear of retaliation. There was
an air of passivity in the station, like the officers there had already given
up before they even started. They were content to sit around, collecting
paycheck to paycheck until retirement comes. To someone like Seungbae, he hated
that kind of attitude the most.

So he did what he does best; he kept his head down and worked. Before long, the
mountain of open cases on his desk began to disappear. His reputation grew.
‘The Alpha in the 78th precinct’ was what they called him. After a year, he was
promoted to the coveted detective position. To an outsider, Yang Seungbae has
achieved all of his dreams and ambitions, just like every alpha that has come
before him.

But deep inside, the man was miserable.

The grim and dark reality of the criminal underworld took it’s toll on him. No
matter how many cases he closed, there will always be another criminal, another
case to replace all of the good he had done. Seungbae just couldn’t keep up.
His coworker’s complacency used to motivate him to do better, but now it nip at
the edges of his consciousness. ‘Why try hard when every criminal you book can
hire a defense lawyer to get out scot free? Why try at all? Just do the bare
minimum and take it easy like the rest of them.’

The insidious thoughts ate at his mind until one day he came to the office and
couldn’t find the will to open a file. So he wandered around a precinct hoping
to clear his mind.

When he came back he found a small boy stuffed in a line filled with big burly
criminals, waiting for his turn to be booked into the system. His officers said
that the boy was caught trespassing onto the roof of a building. Seungbae
frowned at the description. The scenario sounded like an attempted suicide
rather than a case of breaking and entering. So he took a chance and brought
the boy for questioning.

It was supposed to be a routine interrogation, but what he found sitting across
the from him was so much more than a victim, he found his purpose.

“Mr. Yoon, why did you break into the roof of a fifty story building?” He asked
curtly, hoping that his straightforward attitude would make the boy less
uncomfortable.

Yoon Bum couldn’t even meet his eyes. ‘A softer approach then.’ Seungbae
thought. The detective knelt in front of him and unlocked his cuffs, his thumb
brushing over the crisscrossing scar that circled his wrist.

“Mr. Yoon, are you suicidal?” he asked. The boy didn’t need to answer. Seungbae
already know the answer.

“Ah… I just…” The boy mumbled his answer incoherently, pulling his sleeve over
his thin wrist. He didn’t need to do that. They both know that the officer saw
them already.

Seungbae moved the boy into his office. He had hoped that his clean and bright
office would be better than the interrogation room, but the boy posture didn’t
change. He still sat hunched over with his hand clasped over his knee, as if he
was still stuck in the small cube of a room with the cheap metal chairs and
table.

“It’s okay Mr. Yoon Bum, you’re safe here.” Seungbae said, moving a box of
tissue closer to the clearly distraught boy. He didn’t know why he did that.
The boy was not some hysterical woman who’s reporting her cheating husband.
Nevertheless he took a piece of tissue and folded it neatly on his lap.
“Thanks.” The boy mumbled.

An hour passed in complete silence, and at that point Seungbae was ready to
give up. It probably would be better for him if he would just pass the boy to
some social worker, just as he began to rise from his seat, Yoon Bum turned his
deep dark eyes to him and began telling his story.

His small voice was barely louder than a whisper, but it grew as he began to
tell his story. He told him about his uncle, about the military, about the
depression and unbearable need to kill himself every time his heat hit him. He
apologized for inconveniencing everybody, especially the building owner. He
know that what he did was selfish “-but I just couldn’t help myself. It looked
like a perfectly lovely building to jump off from.”

Seungbae didn’t know how to reply to that.

It was so surreal. In front of him sat a boy, devoid of any emotions as he
recounted the gristly details of his abuse. He was so calm and blasé about it
he might as well be reciting the number for Saturday night bingo. The boy
looked fine, he sounded fine, so why do Seungbae feel like planting a bullet at
every single beta that had ever touched this boy.

‘Because he should be mine.’ A small primal voice whispered on the back of his
head

Seungbae ignored it, instead he took out some pen and paper and began outlining
his plan. He wrote down all of the names of the perpetrators, asking Bum to
fill in on a few details here and there. Within ten minutes he had enough
testimony to arrest his uncle, and if he wanted to, every single one of those
beta officers whose name has been purged from military records.

He gently explained the process to Bum, how after the initial arrest he would
have to testify in court so that everyone involved would get their due
diligence.. “It could be a jarring process, but I’ll be right there with you
through everything.” He promised.

Bum’s deep black eyes widened. “No!” he grabbed onto Seungbae’s perfectly
ironed shirt and latched on. “I can’t go public and tell everybody that they…
t-that they…” He shook his head, unable to repeat himself. “P-p-please! It’s my
fault I was born with this kind of body... I-I was the one that turned them
into animals. D-don’t…” He tried hard to choke through the tears. “In fact, if
I just die everything would be fine-”

“Nonsense.” Seungbae snapped, angry at the fucked up rationalization. Yoon Bum
flinched and raised his arms, protecting his head from the beating that usually
comes after such heated exchange.

It never came.

Seungbae face fell when he realized why the boy was holding his hand up like
that. The knowledge overwhelmed him. Seungbae wanted to protect him, and Bum
looked like someone who doesn’t mind being protected. He dropped his pen and
pad, kneeling down in front of the boy, embracing the cowering figure in his
powerful arms.

“You’re safe here.” He said, his calm voice hiding the waves of emotions that’s
drowning him on the inside. “Nobody is going to hurt you.”

At first Yoon Bum turned rigid, but as Seungbae repeated those words, the small
boy began to unravel and sobbed all of his years of sorrow into the young
detective’s shirt.

Helping people. That’s why he took on this job and worked so hard for such
little pay. He forgot how rewarding it felt. All of his struggle for meaning
and purpose was suddenly irrelevant. At that moment the only thing that
mattered to him was this boy sobbing in his arms, because when he’s with this
little omega, Seungbae felt like the hero that he always dreamed to be.
